This Nigerian celebration had the visual semblance of a South Asian wedding with bright and shimmering colours but it was unmistakably a West African wedding characterized by lots of story-telling and many opportunites to dance all through out the evening. The couple opted to use the traditional names in light of the celebration.
One weekend in November during one of my Saturday editing days, I got a phone call from a passionate business owner who needed video. Receiving a call like this wasn't uncommon - it was more the idea of what she wanted filmed.
Here begins my first encounter with Shawn Solomon. She is the owner Thornhill Skin Clinic but, even though we would potentially use that space, it was more of a personal project. She enthusiastically talked about her daughter's classmate who had a heart transplant and the story of how she discovered. I got the gist of what she wanted us to do but nothing would prepare me for the experience I would have meeting Amayah and her mom, Nel.
Tim and Jasmine's story is a story filled with faith and gratitude. They are very committed Christians, who are deeply rooted in their communities of faith. Along with clear recognition of God's goodness in their lives throughout the day, there is an abundance of sports references. Along with being a sports enthusiast, Tim also had his first encounter with princess Jasmine on the softball field.
Ryan Walters, the founder and operator of Aperture Lane. Look forward to sharing great stories with you!
